Better voicemail handling, a shared sentiment chart and AI campaign calls in the HellouOne call log

HellouOne AI voice campaigns now always retry answering machines as voicemail, force answering machine detection when a campaign hangs up on voicemail, record no answer more accurately, show AI campaign calls in the call log and use one shared sentiment chart in Reports.

An outbound campaign is only as good as the results it reports. If a voicemail greeting is counted as a real conversation, or a call that only rang is counted as something else, the numbers stop telling you what happened and your next campaign is planned on bad data. Worse, an AI agent that keeps talking to a mailbox spends minutes nobody will ever hear.

This release tightens how HellouOne AI voice campaigns handle voicemail and how calls are recorded, and it makes those calls easier to find and read afterwards. Here is what changed.

Answering machines are always retried as voicemail

When answering machine detection finds a machine, the call is now always treated as voicemail and retried as such, even if the AI agent recorded a different outcome during the call. That keeps the campaign's retry logic honest: a contact who never actually spoke to anyone gets another attempt instead of being marked as done.

There is one important exception. If the person said they do not want to be called, that still counts. A spoken do not call me is respected even when the call is otherwise classed as voicemail.

No more minutes spent talking to a mailbox

Campaigns can be set to hang up when they reach voicemail. When a campaign uses that setting, answering machine detection is now forced on for its lines. Before, a line without detection could leave the AI agent talking to a mailbox for minutes. Now the campaign does what its setting says: it recognises the machine and hangs up, and those minutes are not wasted.

More accurate no answer results

Calls that only rang, or that were cancelled before anyone picked up, are now recorded as no answer more accurately. That matters for two reasons: the campaign knows to try those contacts again, and your reports stop mixing calls that never connected with calls that did.

AI campaign calls in the call log

Calls placed by AI campaigns now appear in the call log, linked to the phone-system call. Supervisors can look up a campaign call next to every other call, with the same filters, instead of treating campaign calls as a separate world. If you already use the call history, campaign calls now show up there too.

The usual call history filters work on them as well. Filter by direction to see outbound calls only, by status to separate answered calls from missed ones, or by date range to review one campaign day, and download the result as CSV when you want to share it with someone outside the dashboard.

One shared sentiment chart in Reports

The sentiment matrix is now one reusable chart in Reports. In practice, sentiment reads the same way wherever it appears, so a supervisor comparing customer mood across views is looking at the same chart each time. For a tour of the reports themselves, see HellouOne reports.

What this means for campaign results

  • Cleaner outcomes: voicemail, no answer and real conversations are separated more reliably.

  • Fewer wasted minutes: campaigns that hang up on voicemail actually hang up.

  • Respect for the contact: a spoken request not to be called is still honoured.

  • One place to look: campaign calls sit in the call log with the rest of your calls.

How this works with HellouOne

These changes apply to voice campaigns run by the HellouOne AI agent. The cleaner outcomes feed the campaign's own retries and the reports your supervisors already read, and the call log keeps every campaign call searchable next to inbound and agent calls. When a contact who was reached wants a person, the AI agent follows your handover rules.

If you run outbound campaigns, two quick checks are worth doing this week: turn on hang up on voicemail for campaigns where a message adds nothing, and look at last week's campaign calls in the call log to see the new outcomes in place.
