HellouOne website widget cards: links and a named sender

New in the HellouOne website widget: cards over the launcher, a link under the minimized card, and a sender name or AI agent identity on campaigns.

A visitor who lands on your website decides within seconds whether to talk to you, and a closed chat bubble is easy to overlook. As of November 5, 2026, the HellouOne website widget gives you three new ways to reach out before the chat is open: cards over the launcher, a link under the minimized text card, and a sender name or the AI agent's identity on website campaigns. All three are live in production.

This is for website owners and marketing teams who want a visitor's attention before they open the chat, whether the goal is to say hello, point to an offer or a page, or let a named person or your AI agent start the conversation. The look of the widget itself was covered in our post on the soft brutal widget refresh. This post is about what the widget can say and who it says it as.

What is new

  • Cards over the launcher. A new Widget Builder section with four cards that appear above the closed chat bubble. All four are off by default.

  • A link under the minimized text card. An optional link, with its own label, that sends visitors to an offer or a page. You can set it in the Widget Builder or ask LIA to do it.

  • A sender on website campaigns. A sender name, or the name and avatar of the inbox's AI agent, shown on the campaign message.

Cards over the launcher

Open the Widget Builder and you will find a new section called Cards over the launcher. It holds four cards, and every one of them is off by default, so nothing changes on your site until you decide to turn a card on.

  • Say hello after 8 seconds. A short greeting card that appears after eight seconds, only for visitors who have not started a chat. The text can be up to 120 characters per language.

  • Show an away card outside business hours. A card for the times your team is away. It needs business hours to be turned on for the inbox.

  • Show who is typing. While the chat is closed, the card shows that a person or the AI agent is typing, which gives visitors a reason to look.

  • Show the AI agent's question with its answers. The AI agent's question appears on the card with up to 3 answers. When a visitor taps an answer, it is sent and the chat opens.

A few behaviours are the same for every card. A cross dismisses the card for that visit, so a visitor who is not interested is not pestered. A tap on the card opens the chat. And the card style follows the bubble theme, so the cards look like part of the widget instead of something pasted on top.

A link under the minimized text card

One detail is worth getting right: the link does not go on those four cards. It goes on the minimized text card, which is the launcher style "When minimized" set to card. If your launcher is not set up that way yet, change the style first and the link fields are there.

There are two fields:

  • Link text under the card, one per language. This is the label visitors see under the card text.

  • Link address. This is where the label takes them.

The link is optional, and a few rules keep it tidy. The label can be up to 30 characters. The address must start with https://. It opens in a new tab, so the visitor does not lose the page they were on. And the link is shown only when there is text in the visitor's language, so write the card text and the label in each language your site serves.

You can set the link in the Widget Builder, or ask LIA to do it. LIA is the admin assistant in HellouOne; it proposes a change and waits for your approval before anything is applied. A marketing team can use this to point visitors to a current offer, a landing page or the page where they can book a time, and change it as the campaign changes.

A sender name or the AI agent's identity on website campaigns

The third change is about who a campaign message comes from. It applies to website campaigns, the ongoing kind, and it is set in the campaign form, not in the Widget Builder. Two options are new:

  • Sender name (optional). Up to 40 characters, shown before the business name.

  • Use the inbox's AI agent name and avatar. This applies only while an AI agent is active on the inbox. When no AI agent is active, the sender name is used instead.

The result is that a campaign can come from a named person, such as a member of your sales team, or from the AI agent itself. Visitors see who is speaking before they decide to answer, which makes the opening message feel like a conversation instead of a banner. If your AI agent will handle the replies, showing its name and avatar also tells visitors who they are talking to.

See it on hellou.ai

hellou.ai uses website campaigns itself. Our AI agent, Ana, opens conversations from campaigns on the home page, the product pages and the pricing page. The message introduces Ana as Hellou's AI agent and offers to help a visitor find the plan that fits their team. Open the pricing page, stay a few seconds and you will see the result. It is the same kind of campaign your own team can set up for your own site.

A short routine to try the cards

  • Go to Settings → Inboxes, click the settings icon on your website inbox and open the Widget Builder tab.

  • In Cards over the launcher, turn on one card, for example the greeting after 8 seconds, and write its text in each language you serve.

  • If your launcher is set to When minimized = card, add the link text and the link address.

  • Check the preview as desktop and as phone, then press Update Widget Settings.

  • For campaigns, open the campaign form and choose a sender name or the AI agent's identity.

Start with one card and watch what visitors do with it before adding more. A greeting that arrives at the right moment and a link to one clear page will do more than four cards at once.

How this works with HellouOne

Each website inbox in HellouOne has its own widget, and admins set it up inbox by inbox. The cards and the link live in the Widget Builder, with the options on the left and a live preview on the right. After you press Update Widget Settings, widgets already on your site pick up the change on their next page load, with no new code to paste, as the help center article on customizing your website widget explains.

When a visitor opens the chat from a card, the conversation arrives in the same inbox as every other chat, answered by your team or by your AI agent. For the rest of the widget, read how it grew in the new website widget with a home screen, help articles and a builder and how to personalize it without new code.

Try it on your own WhatsApp number.
